More than a school.
A place to become.
A school for curious minds and creative hearts. Through thoughtful academics, expressive arts, and hands-on discovery, every child finds their own way to shine.

Every child brings
something extraordinary.
Our purpose is to help them discover it. We pair strong foundations with open-ended exploration, thoughtful guidance, and the support to try again.
Our vision is a community of compassionate, confident learners ready to contribute to a changing world.

Our mission
At Maplewood Creative School, our purpose is to help children become thoughtful learners who ask questions, express ideas, and care for the people around them. Academic learning and creative exploration belong together: a story can spark a science question, a garden can become a mathematics lesson, and a group project can teach the value of listening.
Our vision
We imagine a learning community where children feel confident enough to try, comfortable enough to ask for help, and inspired enough to keep discovering. Success means building understanding, finding a personal voice, and using what we learn to contribute with kindness and purpose.

Make it. Question it. Understand it.
Strong foundations in language, mathematics, and science give children the tools to explore. Discussion, reading, practical activities, and reflection help them connect those foundations to the world beyond a textbook.
Creative work gives learning another dimension. Sketching an observation, acting out a story, designing a model, or explaining an experiment encourages children to think carefully and communicate in different ways. The process matters alongside the result.

A rich school experience makes space for concentration and movement, independent thinking and collaboration. These are the experiences at the heart of our creative learning philosophy.
Create and express
Art, storytelling, music, and performance invite children to experiment with ideas, share their perspectives, and appreciate the work of others.
Explore and invent
Making, observing, and testing turn curiosity into a habit. Children learn to explain their choices, learn from mistakes, and improve an idea step by step.
Move and connect
Games, movement, and collaborative challenges encourage participation, perseverance, fair play, and an appreciation of different strengths.
Notice and care
Learning about nature and everyday choices helps children consider their impact, take responsibility, and treat shared spaces with care.
Known as individuals. Encouraged together.
Teachers who guide discovery
Our teaching philosophy begins with listening. Clear explanations, thoughtful questions, useful feedback, and opportunities to revisit ideas help learners build confidence. Children are encouraged to share their thinking and recognise their own progress, as well as celebrate the achievements of classmates.
Meet our educatorsFamilies as partners
A child’s interests, questions, and experiences at home enrich their learning at school. We value open conversations with families about progress, wellbeing, and the next steps in a child’s journey. Prospective families can explore school information and bring their questions to the admissions team.

What does a creative approach to learning mean?
Creativity complements academic understanding. Children explore ideas through questions, practical tasks, discussion, and expression, while developing reading, writing, mathematical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Where can I find information for my child’s grade?
Visit Academics for an overview of learning opportunities, and Admissions for grade-level availability. Contact the team to confirm the current curriculum, age criteria, and arrangements for your child.
How can I learn about campus spaces and activities?
Explore the Facilities and Life here pages for an introduction. A campus visit is a useful opportunity to ask about age-appropriate activities, learning spaces, and the daily routine.
